A brief look into my life may seem like I have overcome many obstacles due to Cystic Fibrosis, but this is not true. Many people would call it "Life". I am 33 years old and have a healthy 10 year old son. In 2002, I graduated from Antonelli College with an Associates Degree in Interior Design, I have the knowledge and know how along with 1500 hours to receive my Cosmetology license.
Each and every year my son and I hop on a plane or take a road trip to a wonderful destination. After being on my own for 13 years, I am home again with my very loving and welcoming family. Together we are a happy and fabulous united family. Building lasting memories together make each and every day a reason to smile.
My health is currently stable, but hard to handle on my own; there are days in which I sleep all day, because during the night I have coughed so much that sleep did not come. I have woke up gasping for air, or making a mad dash to the restroom. Chest pain has become a part of my frequent lung infections. Hospitalizations were on halt for a year and a half, but I have made up for that time doing in patient stays about every other month for three weeks or more. While all this is familiar and even routine, it is still hard on my family and friends.
While continued research is vital to the health of patients affected by Cystic Fibrosis, Lung Transplants can increase the survival rate of CF patients, allowing them to enjoy a better quality of life. "Love Your Lungs" with your help can make Breathing
a little easier!
My name is Lisa and I am a CF Survivor.
